The origin story
When people ask me when I learned to dance, I always tell them well my mom said I was dancing in the womb and never stopped. She enrolled me in dance classes at 6 years old, and I have been hooked ever since. At 8 years old, I became a junior dance instructor and started competing, and at 9 years old, I created and performed my own solo choreography. By the time I reached middle school, I was taking 14 classes a week in hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet, acrobatics, Brazilian, and salsa. In high school, I was on the dance team and choreographed all of our hip hop routines. My junior year I joined a performing company touring through Hong Kong and Beijing, China and senior year I dove into my love for hip hop and joined a competitive team.
In college, I double majored in dance and English Education and went on to pursue teaching at the high school and middle school level for 10 years, always finding a way to tie in my love for dance whether it was leading an elective, club or dance team. I have taught dance professionally in schools, after school programs, and studios and perform any chance I get including having been a dancing pinata on the television show, Let’s Make a Deal, hosted by Wayne Brady.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and a love for sharing dance with others, I look forward to teaching others how to pop lock and party!
